About Me

I hold a doctorate degree in Clinical Psychology and I am a practicing licensed psychotherapist in the city of Long Beach, California. I graduated from the California State University of Long Beach with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology in 1996 and a Master of Social Work in 1998. I obtained my Clinical Social Work license in California in 2002, and have specialties in anger management and eating disorders, and as well provide clinical supervision to MFT and social work interns. My practice modality embraces diversity, provide understanding, empathy and sensitivity to gay and lesbian issues. Upon my licensure, I have developed a successful private practice in the City of Long Beach. Currently I am also working for Kaiser Permanente in outpatient Psychiatry. I am a professor at the University of Phoenix teaching graduate level courses in psychology, human sexuality and advanced marriage and family therapy. In addition to my clinical experience, I volunteered for many years as an HIV counselor and to this day continue to provide services to individuals and families affected by HIV/AIDS. From 1998 to 2008, I began another challenge, working with foster children. I provided educational/parenting skills to foster parents, and ensured that all bio-psycho-social needs of the children in that system were met.
